Professor of comparative literature at the Université de Montréal, Jean-Claude Guédon is a specialist of digital media and internet studies. His experience includes the Internet Society (three-time chair of the programme committee), the Canadian Library Consortium CRKN (advisory Board chair), the Information Programme of the Open Society Foundations (board member), eIFL (board member) and the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences (vice-president). He is presently a Trustee of Nexa - Internet and Society at the Turin Politecnico. A frequent lecturer all over the world, he is also acting as expert with the European Commission and other national bodies (Canada, France, Belgium, Portugal). A pioneer in electronic scholarly publishing, he is also very active in the open access movement.
